May 14, 2004 · I'm Afraid this is quite a common problem. The torque postion sensors inside the unit become faulty thus making the steering not work. These can not be changed. A new steering shaft/unit is then required. Not cheap.. On The new mk3 Punto The steering unit is now modified. OP. May 19, 2015 · If its sensor driven you can whip the sensor off and turn it and it should register on the clocks - if it does register then its not being turned by the worm drive. Sep 27, 2020. #8. 1 - remove the black plastic luggage / boot cover. 2 - there is a threaded bolt sticking out with all the earth wires connected and bolted. 3 - take wires off threaded bolt, clean the wire ends. 4 - reconnect the wires to the threaded bolt and do the nut back up. rJEI1E.
